About the movie: During a mission to Mars, astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) nearly perishes in a dust storm. The rest of his crew abandons the planet, presuming him dead. But Watney has survived and finds himself unexpectedly stranded alone on a hostile planet. With only meager supplies at his disposal, he must draw upon all his ingenuity, wit, and technical expertise not only to survive, but also to find a way to signal Earth that he is alive. The moment he succeeds, millions of miles away, NASA and an international team of scientists begin working tirelessly to bring this "Martian" home, while his crewmates simultaneously demonstrate their courage on a near-impossible rescue mission.
